Gerald R. Fowler (Jerry), 83, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021. He was born in Emmett, Idaho to Samuel Fowler and Bessie Brown on February 9, 1938.
Jerry grew up in Emmett, Idaho and attended Emmett High School. Afterwards, Jerry attended college for two years as well as spending two years serving in the National Guard. Jerry never had a spare minute, working many jobs throughout his life including positions at Boeing, making various investments, and was the co-owner of the commercial crabbing boat, the Kirsten Marie.
Jerry’s hobbies included reading and old cars, while his true passion was fishing. Jerry met Marilyn in Emmett and they married in 1979. Together they would spend the next 42 years happily married, raising children, and spending time with their grandchildren. If you knew Jerry, you knew he loved his family. Jerry could often be found cruising around town checking in on family and friends. Jerry will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his never-ending wit, and for the genuine kindness he gave each, and every day.
Jerry is preceded in death by both of his parents, Samuel and Bessie, and his two sisters: Reva Martin and Eldene Pevler. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. Fowler; his three children: Ernie Blacker, Terri (Chris) Siems, Clintana (David) Elsberry; six grandchildren: Jared (Kali) Blacker, Keagan (Jessica) Elsberry, Kassedy Elsberry, Hunter Siems, Austin Blacker, and Taylor Siems.
Services will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM followed by urn burial at the Emmett Cemetery.
