George H. Irving, Jr. (Sonny), left this world to join his children and parents in heaven. He was born in Emmett to George H. Irving Sr. and Juanita Irving. He attended school in Emmett for all 12 grades, then went to Idaho State University in Pocatello and received his B.A. in Accounting. He then spent 6 years in the U.S. Navy, then 14 years in the Reserves retiring as a LT. Commander.
George retired as the Manager of Accounting at Blue Cross of Idaho after 20 years of service. He then became the farmer he always wanted to be, working on his 4-acre farm with his horses, gardens, dogs and other pets.
George is survived by his wife Janice of Emmett, a brother Robert (Bob) Irving of Boise, other nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles, and very special friends of Heather and Eric Loy and their children and Chris Riffie and Jerry Prough.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2:00 pm at Potters Chapel in Emmett.
