Elliot Stewart, beloved father, son, brother, and dear friend to many, 36, of Emmett, Idaho passed away on Thursday, October 18th, 2023. He was born on April 8th,1987 to Stan Russell and Aileen(Sissy) Stewart-Hatfield in Payson, Arizona.
Elliot spent the majority of his childhood in Emmett, Idaho where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and all things outdoors. He graduated from Emmett High School in 2006 where he had a passion for football, in which he excelled tremendously alongside his teammates and some of his best friends. Some of his fondest memories were shared on the field. Elliot enlisted into the Army but was later honorably medically discharged. Although his time in the service was short he was proud to have served.
Elliot spent many years in the workforce but his most valued profession was his time in the Bakken. He spent many years working in North Dakota on the oil rigs. He would always tell you “oil field trash for life!” He had a passion for wildland firefighting and told stories often. He spent a couple of seasons doing what he loved. He finished his career in construction. The word “fear” was non-existent in his vocabulary. He was always up for an adventure no matter the day or time regardless of what idea he or his buddies came up with. In 2017 he and Jersey Coburn welcomed their beautiful daughter, Remi Rae Stewart, into the
world. He took great pride in being her father. Remi will be our daily reminder of Elliot.
He is remembered best for his adventurous ideas. Elliot was bigger than life and there will never be another one like him. His shoes will be hard to fill. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, vivacious smile and that contagious laugh that we all loved so much. Elliot lived his life to the absolute fullest.
Elliot Ray Stewart is preceded in death by his father, Stan Louis Russell; stepfather, Richard Dax Stewart; grandmother, Billie Fae Seale; grandmother, Connie Stewart; grandfather and Richard “Dick” Stewart.
He is survived by his daughter, Remi Rae Stewart; mother, Aileen "Sissy" (Jon) Stewart-Hatfield; brother, Austin (Katie) Fraizer; sister, Melani (Dusty, Brynnlee, Callie, Jed) Nebeker; grandfather, Bill Groff along with multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho on Thursday, October 26th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Celebration directly following the service at the Gem County Fairgrounds in the 4-H Building.
