Betty Sullivan Yates passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Betty was born August 11, 1936 in the Bronx, New York. She moved with family members at an early age to California and then later on to Idaho. She attended schools in the farm school district, graduating from Parma High in 1954. She then went on to Conquerors Bible College in Portland, Oregon graduating in 1957. After returning to Caldwell, she worked in the office of the Dairyman's Creamery for 5 years. During this time, she met her husband, Mack Yates. They were married in 1962 in Parma.
They went on to Portland, Oregon for Mack to complete his bible training and together they served in various churches in Montana and Idaho. Betty worked various office jobs, and finally she served as the Deputy Clerk for The City of Emmett for 29 years, retiring from the city in 2004.
Betty is survived by her husband, Mack Yates; son, Steve (Molly) Yates; daughter, Marla (Tony) Lane; grandchildren, Coby (Brooklyn) Yates, Lacy (Logyn) Bromguard, Kelsey (Drew) Smernes, and Alisha Lane (Harper Kerekesh); great granddaughter Laia Bromguard; foster brother, Leo (Estelle) Tuttle; sister, Irene Owens and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service to honor and remember Betty will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Emmett Church of the Nazarene.
