Phyllis passed away peacefully with her family beside her on May 9, 2023, in Tualatin, OR. Edna Phyllis Bidiman, known to family and friends as Phyllis, was born to Bertha and Joseph Baines, in Grand Junction, Colorado on July 3, 1930. She was the youngest of 7 children.
Phyllis moved to Idaho and graduated from Boise High School. She met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Bidiman Jr. and the couple married in 1950. They lived in Boise for many years and there they started a family with sons, Gary (Spouse- Cindy), Larry (Spouse- Christie) and Kerry and a daughter, Tina (Spouse- Dave Westfall). The family was very busy and Phyllis even more so. She volunteered, was active in Christian Women’s Fellowship, worked in the school cafeteria and sold Avon. She was creative- doing ceramics and selling them. Phyllis spent a lot of time at baseball games and wrestling matches. She worked in banking for many years and later owned her own silk rose business.
Phyllis loved flowers and always had beautiful pots full of them all around her home.
As the family grew, they moved multiple times throughout Idaho and Oregon. Phyllis and Chuck enjoyed square dancing, being very active in The Christian Church and loved hosting their family and friends. The couple eventually moved back to Idaho and settled in Treasure Valley. There they spent time with family including 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and their many friends.
Phyllis loved to sew. She grew to love quilting, and her work was stunning. Her love of her family was stitched into each piece as many of her quilts even now wrap around her family. We mourn her loss. We are so thankful to have had her as our Mom, Grandma and G.G!
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; her son, Larry; and a grandson, John.
Phyllis will be laid to rest in the Emmett Cemetery in Emmett, ID with a graveside service on July 21, 2023, at 10:00 am.
