Doris E. (Corder) Robeson passed from this life into the arms of our Heavenly Father on November 15, 2021 at the age of 83.
Doris was born November 2, 1938 in Warroad, Minnesota to Merle and Hazel Carpenter. At the age of twelve she moved with her parents and older brother to Garden Valley, Idaho. Doris had great affection for horses and dogs. She spent many hours riding with her Dad around the Valley. She attended school at Garden Valley where she graduated with the honors of being Valedictorian of her class in 1956.
On February 17, 1957 Doris married John Corder and moved to Richland, Oregon where John worked on building the Brownlee Dam. They moved back to Garden Valley where they had two daughters. Doris was a homemaker and loving mother to her daughters; she was always proud of her girls. She liked to do leather work and sew, making clothes for her whole family. Doris had a keen eye for trap shooting and in 1968 she was the Idaho State Ladies Singles and Ladies Handicap Champion. She also enjoyed gardening and watching western movies.
Doris was widowed in 1978 and on November 6, 1982 she married Douglas Robeson where she gained a step daughter. Doris worked at the Garden Valley High School as the secretary for 7 years and for the US Postal Service for 2 years. Favorite past times she enjoyed were watching the grandkids at Gem State Rodeos and sports events until her rheumatoid arthritis kept her from attending. Doug and Doris moved to Emmett in 2001 after his retirement from the Boise County Road Dept. She was a member of the Crouch Community Church while in Garden Valley and later attended Grace Baptist Church in Emmett, Idaho.
Doris is survived by her husband, Doug; brother, Eldon (Ellen) Carpenter; daughters, Caryene (Daniel) Bledsoe and Cheri Mansayon; stepdaughter, Laree (Bill) Jones; 3 grandsons, Jason and Jeremy Bledsoe, Christopher Mansayon and 3 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho on December 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
