Doris Patnaude

Doris Evelyn (Hartrick) Patnaude died Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Doris was born on November 21, 1941, to Rosalia May (Hathaway) and Dana DeFaye Hartrick in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. She had an older brother John.

Throughout Doris’ childhood the family moved around quite a bit. She always shared stories of the places they would go and their final destinations were wherever her dad found work. Doris’ mother was a school teacher, most often in one room schoolhouses. She attended elementary schools in Missouri, Arkansas, and Colorado. Doris’ junior years of school were spent in Arkansas. She graduated from Woodland Park High School in Colorado (where she attended her senior year) and graduated with her second cousin. Shortly after Doris’ graduation the family moved to Medford, Oregon.

Between the summer of 1959 and spring of 1960, Doris moved back to Colorado. While there, she worked for Emerson Western and Clifton Precision in Colorado Springs. During this time, Doris met her first husband, Ronald Coy, who was stationed at Peterson Field Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. Doris and Ronnie moved from Colorado to Shephersdville, Ballitt County, Kentucky. Doris was blessed with their son, Kevin. She and Kevin moved to Camas Valley, Oregon when he was just 8 weeks old to be with her parents. In the summer of 1965, the family moved to Garden Valley, Idaho. During 1967 – 68, Doris attended Link’s School of Business in Boise, Idaho.

On December 23, 1967, Doris married Raymond Joseph Patnaude, who was employed by the US Forest Service in Garden Valley, Idaho. Throughout the years, while living in Garden Valley, Doris and Ray were blessed with an additional 3 children, Kimberlee, Joe, and Ralph. In 1977, the family moved to Emmett, Idaho, where they were blessed with their 4 the child, Dee.

Doris dedicated many years of service working for the Emmett School District. In 1989, Doris endured the great loss of her beloved husband Ray. As the years continued, Doris shared her adventurous heart with her family from the wild adventures in Alaska, where they visited her family and Denali National Park, all the way back to Kentucky.

Doris was always a fan of road trips and would share stories from her childhood as the family drove. She also loved the new adventures and stories created with the family

while driving from one destination to the next. Sometimes these adventures were small. Such as, driving from Kentucky to Indiana just to get ice cream from somewhere new and/or different.

Eventually, Doris made her way over the hill to Nampa, Idaho, where she enjoyed a few years of retirement before growing restless. Doris decided retirement life wasn’t quite for her and started working for the Nampa School District until she was ready to retire and enjoy retirement.

Throughout the years, Doris was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Doris loved every moment she was able to spend with her family and friends. She loved

crocheting, genealogy, personal bible study, and music. She loved with all of her heart and

was loved by many.

Funeral services for Doris Patnaude will be held on Monday, June 15, at 11:00 AM at the Potter Funeral Chapel. Following the service, interment will take place at the Emmett Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Doris's life and share in remembering the many memories she leaves behind.
