(Donna) Ruth Skoro, 87, of Henderson, NV, passed away on May 18, 2021 after a long and beautiful life.
Ruth was born on July 27, 1934 to Hettie Leona and Erby D. Orr in Walhalla, South Carolina. She was one of Six girls born to her parents. Ruth grew up in the Carolinas and loved the mountain ranges and country sides she grew up in.
Ruth would visit her sister in Emmett, ID and meet her soulmate (Anton) “Tony” Skoro. Tony would chase her back to North Carolina and eventually win her hand in marriage. They would be married December 8, 1951 in Ashville, North Carolina and returned to Emmett, ID to create their Love story.
On February 19, 1959 Ruth became a mother to a little girl Deborah Leona Skoro. Deborah would be their only child and one of God’s greatest gifts to Ruth, as motherhood was something she cherished and enjoyed.
Ruth and her husband owned the local bowling alley in Emmett, Id. Where she helped to run the Diner “Deb’s Café.” Ruth would later in life work at Hewlett Packard in Boise, on the production line but resigned to help take care of her only Grandchild Anton and travel the US with her husband. Ruth loved to travel and enjoyed trips with her husband and friends in their fifth wheel travel trailers, and her fondest trip was back to Nauvoo, Illinois to see church history.
Ruth was a devote member of the Church of Later Day Saints, she loved attending church and serving the lord. She had multiple church callings over the years inside the relief society, as well as doing missionary and Temple work.
Her family was her biggest love and greatest treasure. Ruth would become a Great Grandmother on May 04, 2008 with her first Great Grandchild, Avah Jo. Before passing Ruth would be blessed with six Great Grandchildren in total Joey, Johnathan, Lilly, Avah, Kingston, And Kassius. She loved spending time with them from watching TV and trying to keep up with the latest lingo and trends, chasing them around the yard, watching cartoons, and building legos. She was an amazing Grandmother, but an even better Great Grandmother.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Skoro, her mother and father, and five sisters. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Skoro, grandson Anton L. Skoro, granddaughter-in-law, Claudia Skoro, and six great grandchildren, Avah, Lilly, Kingston, Kassius, Joey, and Johnathan.
A celebration of life will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel, in Emmett on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 am. After the ceremony, family and friends will be invited to the Emmett cemetery for a grave dedication and to lay her to rest.
