Donald White Obituary

Donald "Don" Charles White passed away peacefully at home in Montour, Idaho with his wife Carla White beside him on February 25, 2026. Don was born on March 21, 1934, in Nampa, Idaho to his parents Harold Charles White and Lela Florence Wright. Don was the older of their two children, with a sister Louise White Gibbons.

Don went to Nampa High School and developed a passion for Football and Track. Don was selected to the National High School All-American All-Star Football team on January 30, 1952. He went to Boise Junior College now known as Boise State University playing Football till he injured his knee and was devastated when he had to quit playing football. Later, Don found another passion in Team Roping and roped with many friends for many years.

Don had 4 children with Carol Allen his first wife, Tanda (Wilbur Charters), Chuck White, Deon (Warren Budell), and Troy White. Later Don remarried with Carla White on May 31, 1980, in Sweet, Idaho. They went to Idaho Falls Temple to get sealed for all time and Eternity. Don helped raise Carla's previous marriage children Tad (Laura) Bradshaw, Jackie (Jeff) Van Leuven, Tennille (Ray) Glenn and loved them as his own. Later, Don and Carla had another child together, Kendra (Luke) Jones. He was loved by many grandchildren.

Don was passionate about and proudly raised Hereford cattle on his ranch with the JK brand which his grandfather had started on sheep and passed it through his father too. He loved to be up at his place in High Valley, Idaho on his property to watch over his cows. Don fed his cows many different ways over the years, some years when he was on his own that meant tying the steering wheel on his tractor with a chain and jumping off to go feed, then climbing back on the tractor to turn it around and finish feeding. More recently he fed his cows with Luke Jones every winter till 2 weeks before his passing. That's how much he loved his cows. Don also farmed in Montour, Idaho for many years where he grew his own hay and other crops. In 1966 he won Grassman of the Year for Gem County when he put irrigation on his place in Montour. He loved farming, but eventually decided that he would sell the farm ground, because it was no longer profitable. After selling the farm ground he purchased his hay from a long-time neighbor and friend Lon McConnel. They often teased each other about who grew the better hay, and which were better, Fords or Chevys.

Don was known by many and was a very popular man. He was a teaser and a storyteller. He loved to tease his grandchildren, family, and friends.
