David Ray Pratt, 81, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Emmett Idaho. Born on April 22,1944, in Fort Scott, Kansas, David lived a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and a spirited sense of humor that endeared him to those around him.
David proudly served in the United States Navy for 22 years, with much of his service based in San Diego, California. His long military career reflected his dedication and commitment to his country. Upon retiring from the Navy, David returned to Idaho where he became employed with the Emmett Job Service, retiring in 2008. He continued to apply his skills and creativity through his passion for restoring furniture and collecting antiques -pursuits that combined his appreciation for history with a craftsman eye for detail.
Known for being witty and fun-loving, David brought laughter and warmth into every room he entered. His quick humor and joyful spirit left lasting impressions on friends and family alike.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Ellen Pratt; daughter, Sheila (Troy) Pulley of Emmett; son, Steven (Louise) Martin of Boise; son, Dominic Pratt of Erie, Pennsylvania; daughter, Carly (Jhonny) Loera of San Diego, California; stepson, Scott Goslin of Salt Lake City, Utah; 10 grandchildren- Ryan Howard, Rick Howard, Kaylee Burkhart, Keri Pulley, Robert Birkinbine, Ryan Pulley, Gracie Floresta, Gabriel Edmison, Maddie Kilborn, and Eli Lynn ; 9 great grandchildren, Trey, Zayden, Jason, Cameron, Zachary, Zoey, Damian, Penny and Romari.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Muriel Pratt; brother Dean Pratt; son, Jason Edmison Pratt; and granddaughter, Kassondra Pulley.
May his memory bring comfort to those who love him and continue to inspire joy in their hearts. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Emmett Cemetery in Emmett Idaho. Arrangements are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel.
