My brother David was born October 22, 1943 in Boise to Rich and Evaline Humpherys. David attended school in Horseshoe Bend and graduated from Emmett High School in 1961. David worked for various construction firms throughout his working career. He was a skilled wood worker and very proud of the furniture he crafted for his home. To say David had a lifelong obsession with fly fishing, is an understatement. He lived for it. David tied his own flies from a young age and who knows how many bamboo rods he destroyed on the banks of Harris Creek in perfecting his passion. Fishing for tarpon or bonefish in Belize, salmon or trout in Idaho, or the once in a lifetime trip to Australia and New Zealand, this is what he loved. Later in life when illness forced him to stop fly fishing, genealogy and family history was pursued with almost the same passion. He loved solving the family mysteries and finding the occasional skeletons in the closet.
Davis was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, A. Rich and H. Verl Humpherys.
David is survived by his sister, Janet Ward, brother, Tim Humpherys, sister-in-law, Shirley Humpherys and a large extended family.
I do not have the words to express the kindness that David's neighbors and friends have shown for him, David truly was blessed to have you in his life.
Thank you
