David Bowman Obituary

 David Wayne Bowman, age 68, passed away on the evening of April 5, 2024, at his home in Emmett, Idaho. He was surrounded by those he loved.
 David was born November 14, 1955, in Ontario, Oregon, to Paul and Clara Bowman. He attended schools in Boise and Emmett, graduating from Emmett High School in 1974. David was a talented athlete and excelled in basketball.
 David married Janet Richarz on August 22, 1975, in Boise, Idaho. They lived in Boise for two years and then moved to Emmett where they made their home and raised their family. David and Janet were married 48 years and have 2 daughters: Danielle and Latisha Bowman. 
 David owned and operated Bowman's Irrigation in Emmett for 40 years. He went out of his way to provide quality, skilled service for all his customers and took great pride in his work.  
 David was an avid hunter and fisherman. In 1997 he was recognized in Boone and Crockett as the recipient of a Big Game Award for a mule deer buck with typical antlers scoring 193-4/8. He won a master fisherman trophy for the season's largest coho in Vancouver, Canada in 2001. David was a member of the Emmett Men's Golf Association and enjoyed being a basketball referee and coaching his grandchildren throughout their sporting careers. David also coached little league baseball and basketball. He delighted in young people and enjoyed helping them achieve their goals.
 David was a master craftsman, artist and gardener. He was a self-taught man who could figure out almost everything. His creative touch adorns his home, yard and community. He is best known for his immense love and joy in taking care of his family members and for his appreciation of the great outdoors.  To know him is to love him. 
 David is preceded in death by his mother Clara and father Paul. 
 David is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters Danielle Bowman and Latisha Bowman; grandsons Tobias Demaray and Titus Demaray; granddaughter Emmy Bowman; and great grandson Noah Demaray. He is also survived by his brothers: Bob Bowman and his wife Sue; Dewey Bowman; Kenneth Bowman and his wife Carrie; and Joe Bowman. Additional survivors include sisters: Amanda, Pauline, Hattie and Amber; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
 There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Potter Funeral Chapel with a Graveside Service at the Emmett Cemetery on Friday April 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
