Dale Hanson was born on April 29,1934. He was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Myrtle (Rhodes) Hanson, sister Dolores, three sons William, Dale, and Robert. Preceded in death also by wives Iola (Harper) Hanson, Josephine Hanson and companion and friend Margaret Drake. He is survived by sons James and Jonathan and daughters Debra and Leola Hanson, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Horseshoe Bend has been his home and logging the woods of Idaho his life. Having a successful logging company for many years and then later serving two terms as Boise county commissioner his passion was benefiting the community. He played high school football in Cascade earning a college scholarship. Always a sports fan he later sponsored the Hanson Logging baseball team.
A lover of animals, as a child he once had a pet bear cub rescued from the woods and has taken in many a dog or cat. He also has rescued many a person who needed a helping hand offering them a job, a place to stay, or a bag of groceries. His life was always about work, friendships and helping those in need.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday July 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Pioneer Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. Services are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett.
