Clifford Edward Vanosdall, age 69 of Emmett, Idaho graduated from this life to the next Thursday the 30th of December 2021. He was born the 28th of June 1952 at Ord, Nebraska to Romona Edith Cook and Alonzo “Joe” Vanosdall. He was the oldest of 8 children.
As a young child, Clifford suffered from bouts of pneumonia several years in a row, running high fevers each time. Clifford started School in Middleton, Idaho and with several moves the family settled down in Homedale, Idaho, where he continued his education and graduated. Clifford, enjoyed hunting, fishing and living on the farm we grew up on near the Snake River. It was an ideal place for him to grow up.
After High School, Clifford worked at Jackson’s in Jordan Valley changing tires and as a mechanic. He then joined the Air Force where he was stationed in California and Alaska. He met and Married Judy Lynn Bethel the 6th of June 1981 in Boise, Idaho. He loved and adopted Judy’s son, John Ross Vanosdall, and they made a great family together.
Clifford worked for BFI as a tire maintenance persona and mechanic, and then at Ore-Ida in Ontario, Oregon where he retired.
Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lynn Vanosdall and her parents (William Lawrence Bethel and Yvonne Darline Bisher); his father, Alonzo Clifford Vanosdall; brother, Lonnie Ray Vanosdall, and his two infant brothers, Duane Allen Vanosdall and Joe Junior Vanosdall. He is survived by his son, John Ross Vanosdall and wife Wei-Jun; mother, Romona Edith Andrusl; brother, Lyle Vanosdall and wife Kathryn; brother Jack and wife Hillary Nelson; sister, Janece Jo and husband Denny Fretwell; sister, Naomi Lee and husband Morris Ray Brown; and Lola Mae and husband Kevin Hamrick as well as his pride and joy, his grandson, Paul William Vanosdall.
Clifford will be greatly missed by many. We will miss his calls to checking in on us, reminding us of the weather coming our way and wishing us a Happy Birthday, Happy Mother’s Day, Christmas and so on. And of course, the many stories he remembered so vividly.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett. Urn burial will follow at the Emmett Cemetery.
