Christine Marie (Henske) Holt

  Christine Marie (Henske) Holt, affectionately known as Chris, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 21, 2026 at age 74. Chris's passing came after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is now at rest, she is now at peace, she has gone home.

Born in Prineville, Oregon on November 19, 1951, Chris was the first child to Wesley and Doris Henske. Chris was raised on a farm in Madres, Oregon. Then at age three the family moved to Canby, California. Chris received her first pony at age five, thus leading to her lifelong love of horses.

  Chris attended 2nd and 3rd grades in Metolius, Oregon. The family then moved to Meridian, Idaho in 1958 and then to Riggins, Idaho in 1963, where she graduated high school, then to Boise State University for one year. Chris worked for several years in restaurants in Riggins and Boise then later with Mountain Bell.

  Chris met and married Ron Hall in 1979. They had two children, Danielle and Nichole and helped raise Ron's children, John and Natashia for eleven years.

  Chris then met and married her last love, Bill Holt, on June 20, 1992 and got to know his two children, Kelly and Jason for 34 years until her passing. Chris's love of horses and Bill's love of Chris stayed on and they became members of the Emmett chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Idaho in 2008 until retiring in 2022.

  Chris was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Henske, grandparents and aunts.

  Chris is survived by her mother, Doris Henske; siblings, Sue Payne and Mary Beck; children, Danielle Hall and Nichole Bubar; grandkids Kiah Bishop and Andee Bubar; stepchildren; John Hall and Natashia Robinson and her son, Tyler Ladman; beloved husband Bill Holt; his children, Kelly Redmond and Jason Holt and Kelly's Children James and Hannah Redmond.

  Besides horses, Chris loved animals of all kinds, flowers, crafts, people, and the occasional stray old man. Chris was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

  In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Chris’s memory by making a donation to one or both of the following nonprofit organizations, each helping bring hope, support, and meaningful moments to families facing difficult circumstances.

   The Alzheimers Association to support families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. Funds raised will help provide care and support to those affected while advancing promising research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

  The Ride for Joy, a local organization that provides riding experiences for adults and children facing terminal illness. One of the greatest ways we can honor Chris’s memory is by helping fulfill a last wish for another family and creating a special memory they can cherish.

  Celebration of Life for Christine will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 9:50 AM at the Willow Grove Event Center located at 4131 W. Central Rd in Emmett, Idaho.
