Charles H Crump, 85, passed away at Valor Hospital in Emmett, Idaho on March 17, 2025. Charles was born on February 28, 1940 to Charles C. and Fae Crump in Hartford City, Indiana.
Charles lived in Indiana until 1953 when he and his family moved to Emmett, Idaho. Charles played many sports throughout his school years and enjoyed fishing with his dad in his downtime. He graduated from Emmett High School in 1958. Charles served in the Army National Guard for a short period of time where he was a member of the 25th Army Band. After being honorably discharged he began his career at the Boise Cascade sawmill.
Charles met the love of his life, Bonnie Nees in 1967 and they were married on January 11, 1968. Charles and Bonnie raised 3 children together and had an amazing 57-year marriage.
Charles spent his retirement years playing music, enjoying his family and telling the worst dad jokes anyone has ever heard.
Charles went by many names throughout his lifetime, Charles, Charlie, Chuck, Sonny and his favorite names of all, Dad and Papa.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Fae; brother, Larry; and sisters, Phylis and Marylin.
Charles is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Brian (Deanna) Crump, Carrie Crump, and Tonya (Tyson) Franchini; grandchildren, Taylor (Alex) Davis, Devan Crump and Dorian Crump; and nieces, nephews. Charles also has 2 beautiful great granddaughters, Spencer and Willow, whom he loved more than anything. His pride and joy was watching his grandchildren grow and was so proud when his love of music passed on to them and they joined him when he went on his “gigs”.
We are so thankful your pain is gone, we hope you’re catching all the biggest fish with grandpa. Don’t worry about mom, we’ve got her. You did an amazing job and were the best dad. We are so grateful for you and blessed to have had you for so many years. We all love you very much, until we meet again….
