In 1991, Carolyn graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in University Studies, with an emphasis in gerontology. After graduation, she received licensure as a social worker and dedicated her professional life to serving others. Her musical ability included proficiency on both the cello and guitar, and she had a lovely singing voice. Carolyn spent her entire adult life in Idaho, where she enjoyed relaxing at her parents’ cabin in Cascade, attending the Trailing of the Sheep event in Sun Valley, creating a welcoming home with her partner, Harry, and spending time with her niece and nephews.
