Bonnie Jean Crump
March 23, 1946 – August 5, 2026

  Bonnie Jean Crump was born Bonnie Jean Nees on March 23, 1946, in Payette, Idaho.  She was the 10th of 13 children born to Ralph and Rebecca Nees.  Growing up, she lived in several different places, but predominantly in Payette and New Plymouth, Idaho.  She graduated from Payette High School in 1964.  She worked as a dental assistant and also as a waitress.  It was in New Plymouth, Idaho, in 1967, that she met the love of her life, Charles Crump.  They were married January 11, 1968, and she moved with him to Emmett, Idaho, where she spent the remainder of her life.  
  Bonnie gave birth to two daughters, Carolyn (Carrie), in 1972, and Tonya, in 1976.  She raised her girls, and her step-son, Brian, with Charles in Emmett. She considered being a mom, and later a grandmother, her life’s greatest work.  When her children were older, Bonnie went back to work and held various jobs in Emmett, including working at the packing shed, Radio Shack, Shaver’s, and True Value Hardware.  From 2004 – 2015, Bonnie, and her daughter Carrie, operated an in-home childcare facility called Cuddlebugs Daycare.  One of the biggest reasons for this job shift was so she could take care of Tonya’s three beautiful children, her grandchildren and her pride and joy, Taylor, Devan, and Dorian (DJ), while Tonya was at work.  After the daycare closed, one of her favorite activities was taking care of Taylor’s daughter, her great-granddaughter, Spencer.  She also loved spending time with her other great- granddaughter, Devan’s daughter, Willow. 
  Bonnie enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, and baking . . . especially DJ’s favorite red velvet cookies!  More than anything, she loved being a wife, mother, grandma, and later GiGi.  She and Charles played music and sang at many area nursing homes.  When the grandchildren got older and involved in extracurricular activities, she got even busier.  From watching Taylor dancing, to Devan acting, and DJ playing football, basketball, and running track, to listening to all three grandchildren sing, she loved supporting, encouraging, and cheering on young people.  She claimed additional grandchildren through the daycare and particularly loved her visits from Ryder and Oakley Scheibe.  They will always be claimed as family.  
  After a hard-fought battle with kidney failure, Bonnie passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at The Cottages of Emmett, surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Rebecca; her siblings, Bob, Carl, Eddie, Charlotte, Tom, and Larry; and her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles.  She is survived by her siblings, Earl (Shirley) Nees, Donna Stowell, Betty (Bill) Eastburn, Sharon Nees, Shirley (Gary) Pruitt, and Ken (Marie) Nees; her children, Carrie Crump and Tonya (Tyson) Franchini; her grandchildren, Taylor Crump, Devan Crump, and Dorian Crump; her unofficial grandchildren, Ryder and Oakley Scheibe; and her great-granddaughters, Spencer Crump and Willow Crump.  We are grateful Bonnie is no longer in pain and is celebrating in the arms of Jesus.  Her family is also grateful to staff at The Cottages of Emmett and Horizon Home Health and Hospice for the love and care they have provided during these final days of her life here on earth.  Bonnie was fun-loving, sometimes quirky, and a joy to those who knew and loved her, and she will be greatly missed.  There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho followed by a brief graveside service at the Emmett Cemetery.  If you have a favorite memory or story you would like to share, please either email it to potterchapel365@gmail.com or post it to https://my.gather.app/remember/bonnie-crump.  Rest peacefully, Bonnie.  We love you!
