Bob King

Robert “Bob” Gene King of Emmett, Idaho passed away on July 3, 2026. Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Roseann King, his daughters Deborah Caruso, Pamela Fry, Roberta Burroughs, Cythia Owen, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob served in the Airforce for 20 plus years. He was stationed in occupied Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. He was part of a special unit called Safeside that secured American aircraft from bombings during Vietnam. Also serving two terms in Ranger training due to broken ankles.

Bob retired and started a cow/calf operation while building his first home on 40 acres in Alturas, California. After 15 years Bob and Roseann moved their daughter, Pam, to Emmett, Idaho. While there they fell in love with the area and moved themselves to Emmett as well. He built a new home in the area, identical to the house in Alturas, and lived there until the Lord took him home.

Bob wrote a short epitaph for himself that says, “Here is a good man and he did the best that he could for his family, country, and everyone else that he knew. If you don’t have a sense of humor, take a hike. Bob acknowledges Phil Housley.
