Beverly Robideau Obituary

Beverly Jean Erwin Robideau, age 75, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on March 6th, 2025. She was born on August 25th, 1949 to Kenneth and Ola (Plant) Erwin in Cottage Grove, Oregon.

Some may focus on the birth date and death date of a person. But the life lived is the “dash” between the dates. Beverly filled that “dash” to the top and overflowing with her zest for life and all it offered.

Beverly spent much of her younger years in Bend, Oregon where she made lifelong friends and had many escapades. She was very active in sports and outdoor activities. She was known as a sharp marble player in grade school, and even won marbles from another classmate, who became her future husband, Rick.

She graduated from Sunset High School in Portland, Oregon with a college basketball scholarship. She decided to pursue other opportunities, including training and boarding horses, dog grooming and training, and was a professional dog handler at shows.

Beverly lived a life full of adventure, creativity, and love. Her love of animals was ever present from a young age when she would bring home stray animals, much to the dismay of her mother. She loved to hunt, fish, camp, hike, garden, river raft, spend hours at the beach looking for agates, and enjoying all of nature. She canoed at Yellowstone and white water rafted the Hells Canyon. She would set up the best elk camps, was a great shot, and an expert fisherwoman.

She enjoyed music, dancing, and friendship. She always stood out in a crowd with her bright smile, infectious laugh, and sparkling personality. One of her favorite stories was when she attended a Willie Nelson concert. He picked her out of the crowd, grabbed her hand, asked her how she was doing, then gave her a slight dip and a kiss.

But most of all, she loved her family and friends. Her favorite career was that of a nanny. She loved children. She wanted to be a mother and was blessed with a son, Lucas Phifer, who brought her immeasurable joy and happiness. She was excited to become a grandmother and adored her grandchildren Lucia and Declan Phifer, and Christopher and Jeremy Pemberton. She was fiercely loyal to her family and made them a priority.

She met and married Rick Robideau, to whom she was married for 24 years. They had many adventures together and shared enjoyment of the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and traveling.

Beverly was known for her amazing cooking skills and home design. Thanksgiving was a family favorite spending the day cooking and creating in the kitchen. She had an eye for beauty and always kept an inviting home for family and friends. She and her husband Rick ran a concession trailer for many years and traveled to various events while entertaining and feeding people.

She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all those who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Her faith in God and knowledge of Jesus Christ will carry us all through until we see her again.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Erwin; her mother, Ola Smurthwaite; sister, Sandra Rail; stepbrother, Gordon Smurthwaite; stepsister, Cheryl Conner; and other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Robideau; son, Lucas (Alice) Phifer; sisters Sue (Roy) Scurlock, Marjorie Lewis, Bobbi (Brian) Fuller; grandchildren, Lucia Phifer, Delcan Phifer, Christopher Pemberton, Jeremy Pemberton, and many nieces and nephews.

We love you Beverly and will miss you. May we all be blessed with your loving spirit until we meet again…
