Beverely Elliott Obituary

Beverly B. Elliott, 87, born on May 28, 1934, passed away peacefully in the afternoon on August 16, 2021 in the company of loved ones.

Beverly was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to Elwood and Ethel Bingham.  She is the second of 6 children.  Beverly lived in several places, moving to Emmett when she was 13, where she grew up on the Plaza Ranch.  She graduated from Emmett High School in 1952 and later attended Utah State University.  She married her sweetheart, Norvil R. Elliott on October 6, 1952 and sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Beverly and Norvil moved back to Emmett, Idaho where they raised their four children on the Plaza Ranch running a fruit and dairy business.  As a young girl, Beverly loved riding horses and was an accomplished pianist and vocalist.  She also loved to tap dance.  With her curly hair, she was nicknamed “Shirly Temple” by some.  During the time of raising her family and working alongside her husband on the ranch, Beverly always found herself involved in musical quartets, trios and other liberal arts performances both at church and in the community. It was important that all of her children learn to play the piano as well as other instruments. Beverly belonged to the local Beta Sigma Phi and did a lot of supportive work within the Farm Bureau and Diamond Fruit Grower Company alongside Norvil.  She was always so supportive with her children and grandchildren trying to attend as many of their events and performances as possible.  Beverly’s children, grandchildren, and later great-grandchildren brought her the most joy, they were always her priority. Beverly taught remedial reading and math in the Emmett school district for 37 years.  She loved working with children and the youth. Beverly was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during her life serving in many capacities.  In 2007 Beverly and Norvil served 2 years in the Suva Fiji Mission, working with the native people of the Vanuatu islands.

Beverly is survived by her son N. Bryan (Joanne) Elliott, daughter Brenda (Mike) Hannan, son Korth (Joan) Elliott, daughter Barbara (Tom) Weissenbuehler, 15 grandchildren (and spouses), 27 (1 in the oven) great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and 3 sisters.
