Betty M. Potts

 Betty Marie Potts, 98, passed away June 19, 2022 at a care facility in Nampa, ID.  She was born to Fred and Rose (Longstreet) Probst in Flora Vista, NM October 6, 1923; the third of seven children.

 The family lived in Flora Vista until Betty was 16 years old. At that time they moved to Cascade, ID. At the age of 19 she met and married her soul mate, G. Curt Potts. Shortly after they were married, Curt entered the military and served four years during WWII. Their first daughter, Virginia, was born in 1943 while Curt was in the military. There second child, Kenneth, was born in 1947. There third child, Debra, was born in 1953. Shortly after, they moved to an acreage in Boise where their fourth child, Daniel, was born in 1955.

 Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and taking care of her animals. Nonetheless, her first priority was always taking care of and providing for her family. After the younger children entered junior high school, Betty entered the work force. She worked various jobs over the course of the years. One of her favorite memories when she worked for Red Steer Commissary was having the opportunity to serve dinner to Colonel Sanders. Betty worked for Hewlett-Packard until the time of her retirement.

 After retirement they moved from their acreage to a smaller place in Nampa for some well-deserved rest. One of Betty’s greatest joys was her involvement with her church and the time to get closer to her Heavenly Father. Some of her last words were “I love the Lord”.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, as well as her husband and eldest son. She is survived by her children, Virginia (Frank) Buck, Debra Potts, Daniel Potts; one sister, Peggy (Dennis) Hovind, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Church of God of Prophecy (11535 Smith Avenue, Nampa, Idaho) in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett. Interment will be at Margaret Cemetery in Cascade, Idaho at 3:00 pm.
