Betty Lou Hunt was born December 10, 1927 at LaCenter, Washington, the youngest of eight children born to Mason and Nevada Creel. The family moved to Pender Harbour, British Columbia, Canada in March of 1931. After four years around 1934 they returned to the states and bought a ranch on Wolf Run in Dufur, Oregon. Betty spent her childhood years here riding horses, and Billy the Bull.
In May of 1945, she married John Hunt. They traveled Oregon, Idaho and Colorado working on ranches and herding sheep. Eventually settling in Idaho Falls, Payette, and finally Emmett, Idaho.
Betty especially enjoyed the McCall area. She had an Aspen Timeshare condo for 40 years from 1982 to 2022.
She is survived by two daughters, Lorinne Munn and Linda Lou Hunt, two grandchildren Roy Munn, and Adriane Johnson and a great grandson, Brooks Johnson as well as many amazing nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Riverside Cemetery in Payette, Idaho. Viewing will be the night prior from 5:00- 7:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
