Berta Riley Obituary

Berta Sue Riley was born on February 18, 1959, and passed away on July 18, 2023. Berta was a resident of Emmett, Idaho, for the past four years, and prior to that, she had lived in Caldwell, Nampa, and Melba. A smart and spirited woman, Berta devoted her professional life to tax preparation, providing clients with the peace of mind that their accounts were in careful, loyal hands.

Outside of her professional arena, Berta was a woman of many passions. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her hobbies which included fishing and camping. Those who knew her were sure to appreciate her loving nature, especially when it came to her family. Mother to Katie and Derrick, Berta's love was boundless. As the saying goes, "The love of a mother is the veil of a softer light between the heart and the heavenly Father." Her children and grandchildren were what mattered most to her, and she made sure they knew it every single day.

Berta is survived by her husband, Charles Riley; her children, Katie (Kevin) McDaneld and Derrick Riley; her brother, Gary (Kristy) Lucas; her sister, Sandy Morales; her stepson, Brian (Doreen) Riley; her grandchildren; nieces and nephew. Berta was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Betty Lucas, and her sister, Sue Bowman.

As we remember Berta, we celebrate her life and the love she shared with all of us. Please feel encouraged to share your memories of Berta and upload photos to her memorial page. In doing so, we can keep the spirit of this smart, loving, spirited, and loyal woman alive in our hearts and minds.
