Obituary

Barbara Maureen Swartzlander (née Linn), of Emmett, Idaho, entered her heavenly rest peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. She was 73.
Born on October 21, 1952, Barbara attended school in Ivanhoe, California, where she grew up alongside many beloved cousins and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. She spent most of her life in Tulare County, California, where she built a life centered on family, resilience, and love. Smart as a whip, Barbara climbed the ladder of success in several departments for both Tulare County and the state of California before retiring to Idaho in 2009.
Barbara had a deep faith in God that carried her through some very challenging times in life. She was a fantastic cook, a voracious reader, and someone whose strength, determination, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Gary Swartzlander; son and daughter-in-law Clay and Stephanie Hamilton; granddaughter Raimee Hamilton; stepdaughter Holly LaMarsh and her husband Justin; brother Thurman Linn and his wife, Deanie; and sister Sandy Travis. She comes from a large extended redneck family in California, Arkansas and Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jeffrey David Cash and Mathew Philip Cash, and by her parents, D.C. and Velma Linn. A private family service was held on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
