Austin William Botkin

   Austin William Botkin unexpectedly passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 20. Born on May 4, 2006, in Utah, to Casey and Lindsey Botkin, Austin brought curiosity, grit, and a bright spark to everyone who knew him. He was a beloved son, and a loyal brother to Brett.  
 
   Named with a nod to Willie Nelson, Austin had an old soul. His love of classic country music including Waylon Jennings and Junior Brown could be heard whenever he was around.  
 
   At two years old, Austin’s family moved to Idaho. He grew up exploring, building and discovering, always with a sense of adventure and a hands‑on approach to the world around him. 
 
   Austin’s hobbies reflected his love of learning and his appreciation for the stories hidden in the world. He began rockhounding, spending hours searching for treasures in the dirt with his Grandpa Terry and Mom. His curiosity soon expanded into collecting old coins, each one presenting its own unique history. Eventually, his passion found its home in mechanics. Austin had a natural gift for understanding how things worked. Any spare moment he had, he was with his beloved friends in the shop getting dirty.  
 
   Any piece of equipment that wasn’t running right wasn’t a frustration; it was a challenge he welcomed with a grin. He became a truly talented mechanic, someone who could bring life back to engines and machines with patience and skill. The love of Austins life was his expertly restored 1986 Ford pick-up truck, adorned with the American flag painted on the hood. He spent every free moment learning how to repair it from top to bottom. It was truly his pride and joy. 
 
   While working with his family at Mountain West Building Supply in Emmett, one of his proudest accomplishments was earning his CDL, a goal he worked hard to achieve and one that reflected his determination and strong work ethic. His dream was to drive his Grandpa Ed’s semi-truck at the family business.  
 
  Austin is preceded in death by Grandpa Ed and his Aunt Amber, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms. He leaves behind his parents, Casey Botkin and Lindsey Kelly along with his brother, Brett. He is also survived by his grandparents, Terry and Connie Evans, and Bobbie Botkin; along with many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of family and friends who loved him deeply and endlessly. 
 
   Funeral services will be held at Bramwell Cemetery on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The cemetery is located at 7425 Mustang Ln. Emmett, ID 83617. The service will be live streamed for anyone who cannot attend.  
 
   He will be missed more than words can express. Without the love, there would not be the pain.
