Augustine "Jack" Butticci Obituary

Augustine “Jack” Domenick Butticci passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at the Owyhee Rehabilitation Center in Homedale, ID surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born on January 7, 1935 to Vincent and Marion (Angevine) Butticci in Port Angeles, WA. After high school Jack enlisted into the Air Force in 1952 as a Fire Prevention Technician, where he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, earning many honors including a Purple Heart.
In May of 1954 while on leave, Jack was set up on a blind date with Allene Knox of Emmett. Just 2 more dates found them marrying the following month on June 1, 1954. Jack and Allene traveled with the military and had 6 children together.
Jack retired from the Air Force in 1973 and settled their family in Emmett, ID where he began his second career with Boise Cascade in Horseshoe Bend, ID until his retirement in 1983. Although he loved retirement he went to work at Treasure Valley Opportunities in Ontario, OR in 1984 until it closed in 1986 as a transportation driver.
Jack loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, as well as camping and having barbecues with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling at Lucky Lanes and playing horseshoes in his backyard.
Jack and Allene enjoyed 39 years of marriage until her passing in 1992.
In 1999 Jack reconnected with coworkers from TVO and began dating Dolores Patterson of Homedale, relocating there and blending their families. Jack and Dolores enjoyed 25 years together exploring Idaho in their motorhome and relaxing at their favorite place, Bully Creek, and tying the knot on December 11th, 2013.
Jack leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Dolores Patterson of Homedale, ID; his sons, Michael (Jan) Butticci of Boise, ID and Bill (Cyndi) Butticci of Emmett, ID; daughters, Janet (Wayne) Hays of Iola, TX, Nicky (Don) LaValley of  Chicopee, MA; stepson, Randy (Ruby) Miller of Homedale, ID; stepdaughters, Christina Torres of Reno, NV and Trudy (David) Sleater of Homedale, ID; a brother, Clayton Butticci of Marysville, WA.
