Athena A. Farrera, age 45, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away at her home on April 19, 2026.
Athena was born on December 29, 1980, in Anchorage, Alaska, to her mother, Michelle Pedan. During her infancy, Michelle married Ernie Keener, who lovingly adopted Athena and her sister, Kindra. Michelle and Ernie were married for 13 years, and Athena was raised in a home grounded in family and care.
She graduated from Forest Grove High School in Forest Grove, Oregon. Athena furthered her education by attending Grossmont College in San Diego, California, where she studied cosmetology, and also attended the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon.
Athena found love with Enrique Farrera, and to this union her daughter, Isabella, was born. Though their marriage later ended in divorce, Athena remained devoted to her role as a mother. Throughout her life, she faced many personal challenges and worked to overcome them with strength and determination.
In her later years, as her health declined, Athena found comfort and support living with her father, Ernie, and his wife, Charlena. She spent the last four years of her life in their care, surrounded by family, until she was called home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Michelle, who passed away in 2023 in Nampa, Idaho.
Athena is survived by her daughter, Isabella; her sister, Kindra Keener; her father, Ernie Keener, and his wife, Charlena; her sister, Cari (Raffi) Fustukjian and their four children; and her brother, Jon Keener.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho. Urn placement at the graveside will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Services are under the care of Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
