Amy Buehner Betzold, 54, returned to her Heavenly Father on the morning of Tuesday, February 27, 2024. She passed away peacefully in her home in Middleton, Idaho. Though ailed by the effects of breast cancer, she remained full of the vibrant positivity and faith for which she was known.
Amy was born on May 24, 1969, to Joyce and T Buehner in Salt Lake City, Utah. A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served a mission in Southern California, where she met her sweetheart, Fred. The two were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 20, 1992. Together they had three children, Freddy (Emily), Thurman (Rochelle), and Molly (Zach), fulfilling Amy’s lifelong pursuit of becoming a mom. Reflecting on motherhood just before she passed, she remarked, “It met my every expectation.”
She graduated from Highland High School in 1987 and attended the University of Utah following her mission, earning her bachelor’s degree in child development. For the past 25 years Amy and Fred have lived in Middleton, Idaho, where she leaves behind many friends who will remember her loving spirit and selfless service to others.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, T, and brother, Roger. She is survived by her husband and children; mother, Joyce; sisters, Sue and Becky, and grandchildren Kenley and Redd.
We thank the many, many loved ones who offered hands of support to Amy throughout her health struggle.
