Alvin Harper Moses was born on October 4, 1931 in Sterling, Idaho, the son of Jesse Harper Moses and Mary Emma Cammack Moses.
Alvin was raised on a steady diet of cows, horses and rattlesnakes. Thus, his love of and abiding determination to obtain a ranch was born.
Alvin met Donna his senior year at Snake River High School and in his own words "Man, she was good looking". They were married January 3, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had four children, Jenice (Taylor) Palmer, Gayle (Darell) Christensen, Mikel (Jacque) and Roy (Tari). After Mikel was born in 1954, they moved the family to Moab, Utah where he ran a gas station, ranched and worked at the uranium mill.
In 1962 they moved to Middleton, Idaho where Alvin pursued Real Estate, farming and Ranching. In 1978, they moved to Sweet, Idaho to be closer to the ranch. Once they were established there, they decided to serve a mission together in Knoxville, Tennessee. They were and are faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Donna passed away in 2008. Alvin then married Doris Simpson Ballantyne. Approximately five years ago, his health began to fail and Doris lovingly cared for him until he passed away on October 16, 2023 at their home in Sweet, Idaho.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, parents; brother, Wayne; sister, Carol; son-in-law Taylor and 4 grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Cooper and Kendra.
