Albert Draper Obituary

Albert Lee Draper, 86, passed away on March 27, 2021 in Nampa, Idaho. He was born in Emmett, ID on February 15, 1935 to Kenneth and Agnes Draper.  Al (also known as Lee to his close family), grew up in Emmett, working on the family ranch with his four brothers and two sisters. After graduating from High School, he joined the Air Force and served overseas as a Crypto Operator. After leaving the service he graduated from Boise Junior College in 1960 and went to work for Garrett Freight Lines and later Consolidated Freight Lines as a Rate Clerk.  He married Constance (Connie) in 1962 and they had three children, Teresa (Teri), Robert (Rob) and Leanne. He always put family first, trying to keep us kids out of trouble. He also enjoyed working on super modified and midget sprint cars with his best friend John Booth. They spent many nights getting the 91 ready for the races at Super Oval and Meridian Speedway. Al and Connie later divorced, and Al married Damaris (Dee) in 2003 and they enjoyed a long retirement together. They had a large pond in their back yard in Nampa, ID with beautiful Koi fish, which they both spent hours enjoying. Al’s health slowly declined from COPD and in his last days he struggled to do the basic things of life.   He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Agnes, brothers Dean, Keith, and Larry and survived by his wife Dee, siblings Lois, Dale, and Jackie; children Teri (Troy Billings), Rob (Melinda), and Leanne, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.   Graveside service will be held at Emmett Cemetery on Thursday April 8 at 11:00 A.M.
