Charles (Chuck) Lee White 81 passed away at home in Emmett, Idaho on Saturday June 9, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1936 in Coalinga, CA to Ralph and Anna White. After high school in Corvallis, Oregon in 1954, Chuck served in the United States Navy as a photographer’s mate on the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Oregon State University and graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Zoology. In 1963 he began a long and distinguished career as a conservation officer with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game until his retirement in 1989. After retirement he spent the next 30 years in Emmett with Nona Hyde. They enjoyed numerous RV journeys all over the country. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his extended family and the friends he had through the years. He had a passion for cooking, nature, beer and collecting stuff of questionable use. He was fond of the Oregon Coast where he owned property and enjoyed deep sea fishing. Chuck had a wonderfully positive influence on all who met him and was a soul very full of life and personality. He was always a pleasure to spend time with. Chuck is survived by his significant other Nona Hyde and her family, his niece Kathy (Jill) and nephew Jeffrey (Georgia), Ralph III (Lynda) and Davis (Lisa). He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lois and brother Ralph Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 20, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
